At Stepping Stones Infant/Toddler Daycare, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, responsive, and nurturing environment where infants and toddlers build trust, explore their world, and develop the foundations for lifelong learning. The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) is a key member of a collaborative program team at Stepping Stones Infant/Toddler Daycare, a licensed early learning program providing high-quality, professional care for children from birth to 36 months.

Licensed for 12 children and staffed by three qualified early childhood professionals, the program offers a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment that is responsive to each child's individual needs, temperament, routines, and developmental stage. Children are supported to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace through a thoughtfully designed environment that balances both indoor and outdoor experiences each day.

The program follows a play-based, needs-driven approach to early learning, recognizing that infants and toddlers learn not only through exploration and play, but also through daily caregiving routines such as feeding and diapering. In this role, the ECE uses these moments to build connection, trust, and security through respectful, responsive, and reciprocal interactions.

The ECE supports infants and toddlers from birth to 36 months, including those with diverse needs, fostering their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. With an understanding that development in the early years is dynamic and ever-changing, the ECE maintains a balance of consistency and flexibility—adapting to each child's evolving needs while providing the stability and routine that helps children feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.

In this role, you will:

- Assist in the development and implementation of program experiences that are consistent with agency values and core programming areas.

- Actively supervise children in planned experiences, address healthy positive child development and provide children with a sense of belonging, including daily outdoor play opportunities.

- Provide a nurturing, fun and safe environment for children, and assist in cleaning, sanitizing, and facility maintenance as required.

- Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians, and co-workers.
