²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµhas branches across the province. A branch brings perspective and understanding to local issues effecting the early childhood profession. Branches have an unique opportunity to offer input into ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµinitiatives activities and mandate.
Being connected to a local branch has many advantages:
- Creating awareness of Early Care and Learning - Be part of planning and attending events that highlight the importance of ECE in your community, such activities for May is Child Care month. By being part of this group you have a bigger voice to educate and advocate on behalf our your profession.
- Community connection - Branches may host social events, educational opportunities, or a community of practice. These occasions for networking enhance your professional network and support you to expand your knowledge.

Branch FAQs
A group of current ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµMembers coming together to advance the Mission, Vision, and Obligations of ECEBC.
A representation of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµin a defined location or community (e.g. South Island Branch, Bulkley Valley Branch, Vancouver Branch, etc.).
A minimum of 3 current ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµMembers.
²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµMembers in good standing with a Student, Associate, or Full Membership.
- Connect Early Learning Professionals to the work of ECEBC
- Create awareness around the importance of Early Childhood Education
- Provide professional development
- Host social gatherings
- Foster community and connection
- Sharing ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµinitiatives
- Connect to ECEBC’s programs, initiatives, and opportunities
- Create a space for Early Learning Professionals in your local community to connect, support, and advance our collective work
- Create positive change in our sector, including by planning and hosting ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµevents in your community
- Uplift the voices and perspective of Early Learning Professionals in your community
Branches are located around the province of BC.
Each branch has one or two members who hold the volunteer role of Branch Leader.
- Overseeing operation of the branch
- Fostering a sense of belonging and community for early years professionals
- Organize branch gatherings/events (min. 2 per year)
- Connect ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµprograms and initiatives/services locally
- Submit quarterly reports and branch financials (annually)
- Connect with ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµstaff and Ambassadors
²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµprovincial staff strives to support activities undertaken by a branch in the following ways:
- Collaborative planning
- ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµresources, promotional and educational materials
- Communications (ex. calendar of events, flyers, social media, MailChimp to local members)
- Financial support
- Yes! If you are interested in learning about ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµand your local branch, join us! You do not need to be a ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµmember to attend a branch event (For example, social gatherings, professional development offerings, conferences, etc.)
- ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµMembers have the authority in decision making/voting at local branch meetings.
- Branches are volunteer groups and based in specific communities across BC with the intent to foster connection with early years professionals in their local area. In addition, branches have the pulse of their community and will facilitate unique opportunities.
- ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµAmbassadors are part-time contractors based in specific Health Regions across BC whose role is to build local connections and enhance knowledge of ECEBC. Ambassadors foster linkages between ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµand local educators more broadly.
