Get To Know The South Island Branch
The branch was established over 20 years ago. Originally it was called the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵVictoria Branch. In 2019 we changed the name of our branch to ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵSouth Island Branch to be more inclusive of a broader geographical region.
The executive for the South Island Branch meets monthly to plan professional development, advocacy, and networking opportunities for the branch. We hold a yearly meeting when we invite local members of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵto help us to plan for the coming year. This meeting and the ideas generated allow us to support local ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵmembers in meaningful ways.
Some highlights include two networking events, a community of practice engaging with the Early Learning Framework (BC, 2019), a flash mob and supporting ELC student-organized events. We actively seek out ways to engage local members of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵand the broader ECE community by maintaining a website, dedicated branch email, Facebook page and a blog.
