Serving children, youth, and families, YMCA BC delivers a wide range of community-based programs including early years and school aged child care, health and fitness, newcomer services, and employment programs.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Health Equity, Child Care and Camps, the Vice President, Child Care Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for YMCA BC’s licensed early years and school-age child care programs across the province. This is a significant and highly visible leadership role, responsible for overseeing a large, complex, 150+ site portfolio and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, inclusive, and responsive programs across diverse communities including the Lower Mainland, Interior and Northern BC. The Vice President will bring a strong operational lens, establishing clarity in the child care operational model, consistency in delivery of the model, and alignment across regions while supporting local teams to meet the unique needs of the communities they serve.

Working at both a strategic and operational level, the Vice President will lead the ongoing evolution of a unified provincial framework for YMCA BC ensuring excellence in program delivery, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. They will play a key role in strengthening systems, processes, and performance measures to support a growing and dynamic portfolio, including $65M in revenue, that is financially sustainable long term.

The Vice President, Child Care Operations will be a seasoned operator and people leader; someone who knows how to bring structure, consistency, efficiency and clarity to a complex, multi-site environment, while creating a culture where people feel supported, engaged, and connected to purpose. The successful candidate will be aligned with YMCA BC’s mission and motivated by the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on children, families, and communities across the province.  Engaging collaborative with internal and external partners will be critical to success in the role.

The targeted salary range for this position is $140,000.00 – $155,000.00 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package. The candidate can be located anywhere in the service area.

Qualifications:

Other: A post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline is required; a graduate degree (e.g., MA, MEd, MBA) is considered an asset.

Required Experience:

Demonstrated experience leading large, complex, multi-site operations, ideally within child care, early years, education, or a related community-based service environment.

Salary & Benefits:

The targeted salary range for this position is $140,000.00 – $155,000.00 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
