Location is in Masset, BC on beautiful Haida Gwaii. Relocation allowance can be discussed for the right individual.
Haida Gwaii is small and remote, but full of natural beauty. It is an amazing place to live for people who value a slower paced lifestyle and being close to nature.
Adi虂idsii Ne虂e is a brand new childcare facility in Masset that opened January 5th. Adi虂idsii Ne虂e is rooted in the values of nature-based and child-led learning. The Facility offers 3-6 hours per day of access to natural spaces in the community, as well as inquiry and play-based learning. Children build relationships to the land around them, their educators, peers and to themselves. The programming involves local educational partners, intergenerational connections, and be reflective of Xaads Xiinaangaa Haida ways of knowing, protocol, language and culture. Once at full capacity, Adi虂idsii Ne虂e will have 12 infant toddler spaces and 12 3-5 year old spaces once fully operational.
It is our goal to create a non-hierarchical workplace where staff satisfaction and retention are priorities. Staff will be hired based on licensing requirements, with sustainable child-staff ratios. Staff are supported by a manager and have a consistent conflict resolution model. We offer competitive wages, a health benefits package, and include financial retention strategies.
Rate of pay $31 (25 + 6/hr) for ECEs and $32 (26/hr +6/hr) for qualified IT candidates.
We are also looking for a Manager for our licensed sister site in Daajing Giids. We are hoping to expand in September. Role to start prior to expansion. Manager to be mentored by current manager of Adi虂idsii Ne虂e.
Qualifications:
Basic ECE
Additional Qualifications:
Must love spending time outdoors in all types of weather.
Current ECE certification
1st aide preferred
Required Experience:
Prefer an educator with experience to help mentor our new team, however willing to train the right individual.
Salary & Benefits:
$25/hr + $6/hr W.E. for ECEs
$26/hr + $/ hr W.E. for ECEITs
Benifits available after 3 months
Relocation allowance can be discussed for qualified candidates
