Bowen Children’s Centre Society is a licensed, multi-program early learning and care provider serving infants, toddlers, preschool, and school-age children on Bowen Island, BC. Our pedagogy is inspired by the Reggio approach and guided by the BC Early Learning Framework.

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate, professional Early Childhood Educator to join our collaborative team. Working closely with colleagues and families, the successful candidate will contribute to high-quality, inclusive early learning programs that reflect children’s interests and developmental stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement enriched, developmentally appropriate programming for children aged 0–36 months and 3–5 years

  • Deliver an emergent, Reggio-inspired curriculum that emphasizes active listening, inquiry, and “slow learning”

  • Provide a balanced daily schedule including indoor/outdoor, active/quiet, individual/group activities

  • Observe and assess children’s development and interests to inform program planning

  • Maintain excellent supervision and positive interactions with children and families

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and Centre management

  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and program planning

  • Support daily care routines, including lifting, diapering, outdoor play, and active supervision

Work Environment

  • Physically active role including time spent on the floor, outdoors, and on forest walks

  • Collaborative team environment with shared responsibility for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming Centre

Qualifications:

Basic ECE

Additional Qualifications:

You possess: • Valid ECE License issued by BC ECE Registry • Valid child appropriate First Aid/CPR; CRC upon confirmation of employment • 3 professional references • Fully vaccinated against COVID19 vaccine • Work authorization to work in Canada • Strong sense of responsibility and dependability • A positive, fun-loving attitude • Ability to work in a team as well as being self-motivated • Flexibility to work as the Centre’s operational needs may dictate, across all programs

Salary & Benefits:

$22-25 per hour (WE is on top of the hourly rate for eligible candidates).
