Position: Early Childhood Educator OR Educator Assistant

What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a responsible Early Childhood Educator (ECE) - or Educator Assistant actively working toward their ECE - for our home-based, multi-age daycare.

Brave Hearts Day Care offers a warm and beautiful home-based childcare facility in Smithers, BC, currently undergoing licensing as a multi-age program – 8 children maximum. We provide a safe, nurturing, and playful environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive. Our program encourages children across ages to learn from one another, build strong social connections, and develop at their own pace.
Your Role:
- Plan and implement appropriate activities for a multi-age group that sparks learning.
- Build positive relationships with children and their families.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming space in line with provincial licensing and health standards.
Qualifications:
Basic ECE
Additional Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an approved Early Childhood Education program and certification (or ability to hold one) through the ECE Registry in BC, OR
- Hold an ECE Assistant (EA) Certificate, actively working toward completion of ECE Certification.
- Experience working as an ECE or EA in a licensed childcare or home-based setting.
- Current First Aid & CPR certification.
- Ability to pass/hold a current Criminal Record Check.
- Compliance with ongoing health, immunization and tuberculosis requirements.
- Understanding of and commitment to the regulatory requirements of a licensed daycare.
Salary & Benefits:
Compensation & Benefits:
- ECE Wage: $31/hr ($25 plus $6/hr via the Wage Enhancement Program)
- ECE EA Wage: $24/hr
- Benefits: Full health and dental benefits after 6 months of employment
- Vacation: 3 weeks per year
- Paid Sick Days: 7 per year
- Professional Development: Funding and time provided
