Thriving in Kinship: Inspire Uplift Celebrate
The Early Childhood Educators of British Columbia (ECEBC) invites you to submit proposals for workshops to be part of our upcoming annual conference, taking place May 7 – 9, 2026, in Richmond, British Columbia.
²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµseeks proposals that address timely topics and current challenges faced by early childhood professionals. Proposals should be grounded in best practices, informed by research, support ECEBC’s mission, and meet the professional development needs of the conference’s core audiences
²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµstrives to incorporate a diverse array of presenters and perspectives. We welcome presenters of different nationalities and varying levels of experience representing both individual experts and those representing institutions and organizations.
Call For Presenters
CRITERIA
Workshop sessions should:
- Include full day workshop or 2 hour block (must run for the entire time block). Please be available to present on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday of the Annual Conference.
- Be designed for an adult audience and allow for interaction and questions.
- Host a minimum of 25 delegates.
- Include techniques, strategies or ideas to help delegates share their learning once they return to their communities.
- Align with the conference theme; Thriving in Kinship: Inspire Uplift Celebrate
- Reflect ECEBC’s values, mission and obligations.
- Align with current research, theories, and pedagogy of early childhood development/your topic
Topics to choose from but are not limited too:
- Ethics, Advocacy and Leadership
- Experiments in Pedagogies and Curriculum
- Pedagogical Narration and Living Inquiry
- Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
- Indigenous Knowledges

REMUNERATION
Remuneration is given to the lead presenter submitting the proposal and includes the following:
- $200 for each two-hour session
- Up to a maximum of $30 towards the costs of photocopying and printing materials. Claims for reimbursement must be supported with receipts. Alternatively, presenters may have their materials printed at the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµoffice and delivered to the conference site. Please email sonia@ecebc.ca for details. Materials to be received at least 2 weeks prior to conference.
- Morning coffee and lunch on the day of presentation.
- Discounted conference registration rate is available on the day of presentation only.
- NOTE: Travel, accommodation and parking are the sole responsibility of the presenter.
Workshop proposals will be reviewed and selected based on timelines of session topic, creativity of approach, expertise of presenters, and relevance to the conference theme. Proposals selected will demonstrate an understanding of inclusiveness, diversity (i.e. cultural, racial, religious, class, age, and developed abilities), and ethical practices.
We ask that presenters do not:
- Sell or endorse any products or materials without prior approval by the conference organizers.
- Distribute any personal evaluations (²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµwill provide workshop evaluation forms and share the results with presenters after the conference).
